It’s important to recognize that virtual is an entirely different medium with its own strengths and weaknesses. Trying to follow the physical model too closely can blind an organizer to the new possibilities that virtualization can offer. This can be mitigated by choosing — and listening to — a production partner who is rooted firmly in the virtual event space with deep experience to draw upon, and someone who is not afraid to share that knowledge creatively to make a unique online event.
